Based on your experience and studies - is it better to buy a stock whose SCTR recently breaks above 60, because of more potential gains or is it better to buy a stock ranked in the high 80's or 90's? I have not been able to find an article in the system that shows the historical returns over any time period for any particular score range. Any help would be appreciate.

Scan for percent change

I'm looking for finding, or writing, a scan for seeing the percent change of a group of stocks over a time period. With the Performance chart I can enter stock symbols and I'll get a chart showing the percent change over time of the entered symbols. I'm wanting the same result, but in a LIST instead of a chart. For example if I specify the S&P500 I'd get a listing of the percent change over time (1 year, for example, or 6 months). Or using the NDX100 I'd get the Nasdaq 100 stocks percent change over time. Any thoughts or suggestions ?? Thanks Stan

Familiar with the visuals of the site, I've parameters to input for backtesting an ETF (SPY), viz. in a format styled similarly to the following string (referring to moving avg): * if close > average (close, 66) Please point me to the feature set of the platform to display historical data from such an argument.

You may find a posting on this forum that you you would like to refer back to for future reference or somehow highlight. One way to do it is to use the Draft option. In the thread that you would like to "save" you can start typing a response and then click Save Draft. This will put the Thread into a section on your account called My Drafts. Then you can click on that section and review your favorites.

It's been while since I used this StockCharts Answer Network. Today, EACH TIME I click on "results" to read others' advice, I get, "Page Not Found--404 error". Has this site been ported to another server with a different URL? Or is the site merely not responding today? Site is a great reference tool. Hope it is still functioning and supported. I am looking for stocks approaching their 9ema. so I want them within 4% of their 9 ema. This what how I wrote it. But I am not getting any results. What am I doing wrong? I’ve started looking at zigzag as a chart friend, and I notice that if I leave the field blank, a number appears in the legend. It seems that is the threshold for drawing the lines. I get numbers like 9.78%. Is that a self-calculated threshold? If so, anyone know how it is calculated?

Here’s what I’m trying to do within ACP: Have a ChartList or List of stocks I can look at within say 2 different “Views” or “Layouts”. One Layout could be a shorter timeframe such as 5Min, 15Min and 1 Hr. The 2nd “layout” or “view” could be on a larger timeframe such as Daily, Weekly and Monthly. I’d like to “scroll through” my List of stocks using either my shorter or longer term timeframe.

Basically, I want it to show me US stocks greater than 10USD, that are not part of the SP500 and that have a considerable volume to operate. The problem I have is that advanced alarms take time to reach me. If I do the search through the advanced scanner, it returns stocks that the alarms do not let me know at the same time.
